Diagnostic Testing

Our diagnostic testing occurs only after an application has been submitted and approved by UCCA personel. Diagnostic testing occurs over several days in half day increments. Students are tested for cumulative knowlege in mathematics and reading comprehension. The tests include problems that are presented during certain levels of learning. Each level 1 through 9 is tested to determine the students present cognitive abilities and mastery of subject matter.

The usual story

Do to the variety of learning styles of each child some children have been determined to have some weaknesses in certain aspects of subject matter and conversely be excellent in other areas. This being said the student would be expected to complete a course of study enabling him or her to recover that crucial foundational material. We often will assigne curriculum encompassing chapters of information at previous lower levels to imrove foundational concepts.

 

Once the student has completed these courses they will then begin to complete coursework at the academic level corresponding to the chronological age of the child.
